December 2023

Part of three concerts with the Choir of the University of Strasbourg (La Cohue), under the direction of conductor Avellaneda Durand, as the piano accompanist. The concerts celebrated the tradition of Christmas through the music of different eras- Renaissance, Classical, and Romantic.



May 2023

Sang with the Choir of the University of Strasbourg (La Cohue), under the direction of conductor Avellaneda Durand, in a concert themed around Spanish Tango. Jay assisted the choir on piano for all their rehearsals.



December 2022

A part of two concerts with the Choir of the University of Strasbourg (La Cohue) for a concert program that included works by Zoltan Kodály, Richard Dubra, and Ēriks Ešenvalds.

A milestone for Jay when his 12-year-old student Kashvi Aggarwal (from Hyderabad) won first prize at the All India ConBio Piano Junior Competition.

Sang with the Choir of the University of Strasbourg (La Cohue) at the Palais Universitaire during their Honorary Doctorate graduation ceremony function.

Gave a short informal long-distance piano recital (from Hyderabad) for St. Mary’s Bow Church, London, through a Zoom video conference, that followed the Church’s Sunday Service.


July 2020

Featured in the music video “Dhoop Aane Do” (translation- let the sun shine through the monsoon clouds). The song was penned down by Gulzar Saab, composed by Vishal Bhardwaj, and sung by Rekha Bhardwaj. Jay was in charge of arranging the harmony.


January 2020

Accompanied Soprano Ashrita Arockiam D’souza on an aria by Mozart - as an opening act at a concert that celebrated 264 years of the composer’s birth. This was hosted by Klavier Academy, in Hyderabad, and the main act was a solo piano recital by pianist Karl Lutchmayer.


January 2020

Gave a full-length solo piano recital at The Calcutta School of Music. The recital included works by Scarlatti, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Glass, Pärt and concluded with Liszt's Sonata in B minor.


November 2019

Performed a piano solo recital and accompanied The Deccan Voices Choir (conducted by Joe Koster) at Kodaikanal International School for their annual Winter Music Concert.


November 2019

Jay fully organised a one-day Vocal Workshop at the Alliance Francaise, Hyderabad, which was lead by Opera Singer Sandeep Gurrapadi. This workshop was attended by over 70 people, who had the chance to learn the art and science of vocal technique from Sandeep and witness him giving a master class to a few students from Hyderabad Western Music Academy.


August 2019

Alongside with his five vocal students, Jay performed at an Eco-Conclave hosted by the New Indian Express and Edex. He was responsible for arranging and compiling a medley of songs that dealt with the theme of our planet Earth, peace, climate change and humanity.

Jay accompanied the Deccan Voices Choir (conducted by Joe Koster) on a medley of melodies from The Beatles, Queen, ABBA, A.R. Rahman and more at the concert event- ‘The Music’s Always There’ hosted by Vidyaranya High School, Hyderabad.

Was invited as the chief guest by the Furtados School of Music (FSM), Mumbai, for their annual piano concert. The company Furtados was established in 1865 and since then it has been one of the torchbearers of Western classical music in India.

Performed at a concert in Christ Church, Greenwich, which aimed at raising funds for the winter night shelter and aid for the homeless.

Assisted and accompanied a collaborative project led by Natasha Lohan to create a fresh piece of music which included working with older and secondary age younger people to create new music based on Blackheath Halls Community Opera's performance of Dido and Aeneas.


September 2018

Jay assisted a music practice club at the Dalmain Primary School along with Miriam Walkeling. This was one of Trinity Laban’s collaborative creative projects which brought together dance and music, culminating in a performance as part of ‘Live at Trinity Laban’ at the Laban building. The project included working alongside a music and dance artist and a group of students from the school, ages 10-12, over the course of 9 sessions to create a collaborative music & dance performance.


March 2018

Italian soprano Sofia Calenza and Jay went up to the final round of the Lillian Ash French Song Competition (voice-piano duo), London.


May, October 2018

Performed two full-length piano solo recitals at Bow Church, London.


March 2018

Accompanied the Befriender’s Choir - a group of retired senior citizens from London, for their annual Spring Forth Concert.



February 2018

Jay was an integral part of the Liquid Crystal (Tate Exchange) team where he along with two other musicians were to create the music. This was intergenerational music and dance collaboration at Trinity Laban and Tate Exchange. They created a human kinetic sculpture as an installation at Tate Modern, comprising a shared physical and aural palette that developed over the course of a week’s experimentation, leading to a final public sharing and workshop.
